Why did you become a Hospital Medicine Physician?
I think the major attraction to Hospital Medicine is the immediate gratification or satisfaction from observing results after implementing a treatment plan. Also, the diagnosis, is either confirmed or ruled out in a short period of time.
What advice would you give someone starting out in your position as an Internal Medicine/Hospitalist?
I think the focus has to always center on quality patient care, no matter what else is happening in the hospital. My advice would be to give the same care to these patients as if they are a family member.
Why did you choose to work locums?

Whether slightly sick or gravely ill, you are a lifeline to orchestrate the symphony of healing. You can direct a surgeon to excise a gangrenous gallbladder or call for a solo artist like a plastic surgeon to consider a flap. When a hospital has a complete symphony of physicians, who all come together to resolve illness, it’s a crisp and clear sound that is music to my ears.
